Customizing Invitations with Unique Designs

Most of the customized invitations include stories behind the party, or pictures of the celebrants. Others, though, make it more unique by personalizing their invitations and adding up interesting thoughts about the people they are giving the cards to. This makes it more interesting for the receivers to come to the party and grab memories with the celebrants. Some cards are group specific. They can be customized by categories according to how they are connected with the celebrant. You can take this as a concept to your invitations. Since the invitations are showing that you want them to come to the party, make sure that they are more than flattered to be receiving the invitation. It is not enough that you deliver the invitation. It makes it more special if they receive the invitation with specialized messages or pictures that include your relationship with the receiver and how you wanted them to really come for your party.

Using Bamboo Sticks for Crafts is Fun

I love to make things around the house, it’s one of my favorite hobbies and I spent hours fiddling around in the shed doing this. One of the best things I’ve been using lately is bamboo sticks for crafts as I find the sticks can be used in so many different ways. Not only that but they are really cheap to buy and super easy to work with. I’ve made things like lamp shades, a new fishing rod for my grandson Jack and a shoehorn to help my put my shoes on when the mornings are cold, as I tend to feel a bit stiff then and can’t bend over as much as when I was younger. I usually buy my bamboo sticks in bulk and then store them in the shed as I have plenty of room there. It’s cheaper again this way and I can always be sure to have the sizes I need on hand at any moment.

The Qualities of Polyester Thread in Sewing and Quilting

When starting a sewing or quilting project one of the most important decisions, to make, is the thread that will be used. The wrong type of thread can not only cause havoc with sewing machines but also give the project poor quality. The quality of the thread should also be taken into consideration, avoiding cheap poorly made threads. Choices of thread include; nylon, cotton, silk and polyester but not all meet the standards for sewing and quilting.

Polyester thread has the same look, feel and performance as nylon thread. However, it is resistant to sunlight, mildew and abrasions making it the top choice for sewing and quilting projects. Unlike some threads, like nylon, polyester thread does not stretch and will help maintain the projects shape even after a few good washes. It is strong and will keep seams tightly stitched without breakage, so the project will be durable and long lasting. Another wonderful feature is its resilience to bleach and other chemicals and will not fade or wear out. When most things are bleached the thread will turn brittle and break but polyester will remain intact. Polyester is also impervious to wrinkles and quick drying.

When choosing a polyester thread the choice should never be taken lightly. Look for brands that have a high standard for their threads such as, Superior Thread. This brand makes thread for the central purpose of sewing and quilting projects. Do not choose a thread out of a cheap dollar bin because you are sure to get cheap quality. For the project to last, the brand is as important as the type of thread itself.

In the world of sewing and quilting polyester thread stands out above the rest. Everything that is required for a sturdy and long lasting project, polyester will supply. From its durability to easy care needs, this thread is the making of a beautiful project in any standards.
